Welcome to Rebel Princess, A Carrie Fisher Tribute Fansite. I've been a fan of Carrie for 40 years as an actress, an author, and as a mental health advocate. My heart broke when she died last year. She was bigger than life, so witty and smart, so outspoken and powerful, a spirit burning brighter that the stars. A true hero to us all.

This site is a current work in process. I intend to have it as complete as possible but it will take some time so please follow our social media for updates. And drop by the memorial page to leave your thoughts about Carrie.

THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTERThe late actress and writer was honored posthumously.

Carrie Fisher won her first Grammy award posthumously on Sunday, taking home the prize for best spoken word album for the audio version of her memoir The Princess Diarist. Fisher was previously nominated for a Grammy in the same category in 2009 for the audio recording of her book Wishful Drinking.

Best known for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars films, Fisher died Dec. 27, 2016, at the age of 60, after suffering a heart attack four days earlier on a flight from London to Los Angeles. The next day, Fisher’s mother Debbie Reynolds also died.

Fisher beat out Bernie Sanders and Mark Ruffalo, nominated for the audiobook version of Sanders’ Our Revolution: A Future to Believe In; Neil deGrasse Tyson (Astrophysics for People in a Hurry); Bruce Springsteen (Born to Run); and Shelly Peiken (Confessions of a Serial Songwriter).

The award is merely the latest posthumous honor to be given to Fisher, who received an Emmy nomination for best guest actress in a comedy for her work on the Amazon series Catastrophe.

PARADE – Fans of the late Carrie Fisher remember the Star Wars star for her warmth, her biting wit and, of course, her iconic performances as Princess Leia. Fisher brought her signature style (and some of the franchise’s untold secrets) to The Princess Diarist, a memoir published just a month before her passing in 2016, based on the journals a teenage Fisher kept during the filming of the first-ever Star Wars film in 1977.

The Princess Diarist instantly made waves (and best-seller lists) for its raw hilarity and its juicy behind-the-scenes glimpse at Star Wars, including revelations about Fisher’s relationship with co-star Harrison Ford.

And now the audiobook recording of The Princess Diarist, narrated by Fisher herself and daughter Billie Lourd, has been nominated for a Grammy award in the Best Spoken Word Album category. If The Princess Diarist wins, it will be Fisher’s first Grammy, though the actress was previously nominated in the same category in 2009 for her memoir Wishful Drinking.

Listen to an excerpt from the audiobook below, where Fisher describes her first nerve-racking Star Wars audition with George Lucas.

SYFY WIRE – Actress Carrie Fisher, aka Princess-turned-General Leia Organa, might be gone, but she’s far from forgotten. She’s remembered by her fans … and now the Grammy Awards. Fisher has been nominated posthumously for a spoken-word Grammy for the spoken-word version of her autobiographical book The Princess Diarist.

The Princess Diarist tells Fisher’s tale of her time on the set of Star Wars. During the week, she played Princess Leia opposite a cast that included Harrison Ford. On the weekends, they were lovers. She thought she was in love with him at the time, but her older, wiser, and filter-free self knows better.

You can hear Fisher’s wry, dry humor in an audio sample here.
